Alberta Innovates (AI) is seeking a Senior Business Partner, Clean Technology (24 Month Term) to foster the activites of Alberta Innovates’ Clean Resources team and the TIER Economic Recovery Program. This role provides support and coordination as well as delivery of TIER Program including call for proposals, project management, and Program reporting, and provides support to AI’s Clean Resources programs.

Intrigued? Here’s some more information about the position:

  • Provide leadership and support to the delivery of AI’s TIER Economic Recovery Program
  • Ensure funded projects meet objectives, deliverables, and maintain alignment with Clean Resources and TIER Program objectives
  • Develop value-added tools, policies, and procedures in the spirit of continuous improvement for Clean Resources and TIER Program activities
  • Participate in workshops, conferences, working groups, and other events on behalf of AI Clean Resources on an as-needed basis to advance initiatives
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government, industrial associations, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective low carbon technology initiatives

 

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
    • A postgraduate degree is preferred (e.g. MSc, MBA, etc.)
    • Project management certification is an asset
  • 5 years of experience in technology research and innovation
  • Proven knowledge of scientific, engineering, business, and project management principles
  • In-depth knowledge of technology, regulatory issues and economics of Alberta’s resource sector(s) and the clean technology industry
  • Broad understanding of the Government of Alberta’s and Canada’s energy and environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Strategic thinker and results oriented
  • Research, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to travel as required
