Business Analyst, Accelerators

 

Alberta Innovates (AI) is seeking a Business Analyst who will support the operations of the Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program (Scaleup GAP), with the overarching goal of ensuring Alberta Innovates is able to report on the value generated by its Accelerator investments. 

 

This is a full-time temporary role ending in March 31, 2026.

Reporting to the Executive Director - Accelerators, the Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the program’s data collection, analysis of financial and non-financial information and reporting processes to multiple stakeholders, and also provides a wide range of analytical support for Accelerator funding partners.

 

The successful incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

 

Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting

 

  • Support an efficient and effective process for delivering Program reports.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to implement the Programs quantitative and qualitative data collection process including primary data forms, survey disbursement, facilitation of interviews and focus groups.
  • Follow up with stakeholders on agreed-upon data collection actions, resolution of risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Conduct ongoing data and information analysis including use of counterfactuals and benchmarks.
  • Generate and ensure distribution of scorecards and key reports to appropriate stakeholders on a regular basis as required.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests as required.

 

Continuous Quality Improvement

 

  • Support Program trend analysis and running of monthly management reporting such as KPIs and Dashboards

 

 

Experience and Qualifications we are looking for:

 

Educational Requirement:

 

  • Post-secondary education or a University Degree from a recognized institution in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related program.

 

Skills and Abilities Required:

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in data collection and reporting.
  • Experience with methodologies for quantitative, qualitative, and financial analysis
  • Experience in maintenance of tools for monitoring strategy and program management
  • Advanced data management technical skills including coding
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Experience in the collection, analysis and presentation of diverse data sets
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Planning and priority management skills
  • Strategic problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong quantitative and quantitative evaluation and analytical skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills to convey concepts and information
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong organization and project management skills.
  • Adaptable and able to meet and exceed deadlines.

 

Nice to Have:

 

  • Experience conducting Statistics Canada Input/Output model analysis
  • Experience conducting return on investment analysis
