Data Engineer, Industrial Sensor Technologies
The Data Engineer will be responsible to manage, monitor and deliver data and monitoring projects. This position will be responsible for maintaining, standardizing, and improving existing Industrial Data Solutions, where this position will be a key stakeholder in ISTI (industrial Sensors Technology and Informatics) Applied Data Science and Data Monitoring Services. This position will also be involved in interfacing with existing and new clients regarding new business opportunities and new collaboration projects. A fundamental team spirit and engagement is a must requirement for this position.

The Data Engineer will be responsible to manage, monitor, and deliver data and monitoring projects. This position will be responsible for maintaining, standardizing, and improving existing Industrial Data Solutions. This position will be a key stakeholder in ISTI (industrial Sensors Technology and Informatics), Applied Data Science, and Data Monitoring Services. This position will also be involved in interfacing with existing and new clients regarding business opportunities and collaboration projects. This position will support the defined requirements for InnoTech Advanced Analytics Systems - Design of InnoTech architecture system required for industrial connectivity, big data, and machine learning initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Project management and project execution supporting various research development projects
- Engaging stakeholders for new projects and initiatives
- Data analysis and report writing
- Business development and proposal writing
- Data analytics, deep learning, machine vision
- Perform all activities in the development life cycle (Plan, Implement, Test, Document, Deploy, Maintain)
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
- P.Eng designation
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects including budgets, resources, timely delivery, and interpersonal and organizational skills are essential
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a challenging and changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in several different team environments
- Ability to supervise and train others as required
- Strong oral and written communications ability including developing high quality technical presentations and reports
- Collaborate and support other divisions regarding Digital Transformation and Applied Data Science Industrial Solution Projects and Initiatives
- Standardize and execute Industrial Digital Solution Initiatives (i.e.: Data Connection Architecture, Advanced Analytics, Cloud Platforms, AI, Machine Learning (ML), big data etc.)
- Upgrade, maintain, and develop simpler software applications (C++, C#, Java, R and Python using Visual Studio etc.)
- Understanding of Robotics Systems (design, path planning, programing and operations) is an asset;
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset
