Intermediate Technologist Fermentation (18-month term)
InnoTech Alberta is seeking a qualified Technologist to work within our fermentation team in the Bio Industrial Services Group on our Fermentation team.
This vacancy is a full-time role for an 18-month term, and the successful candidate will be based in Edmonton Research & Development Park.

The successful incumbent will responsible for, but not limited to:
- Duties involving all aspects of culturing of microorganisms
- Assisting in the design and execution of large scale fermentations
- Conducting sample analysis in support of large scale fermentation in an industrial environment
- This position requires shift and weekend work as the fermentation plant operates 24/7
- This position occurs in an industrial setting and will expose the individual to chemicals, biohazards, moving equipment and elevated noise levels
- This position is physical in nature and the successful incumbent will be required to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Biotechnology, Biological Science, or a related discipline
- 5 or more years’ experience in fermenter operation or related experience
- Self-started who is able to work independently as well as on a highly integrated team
- Able to problem solve and pay exacting attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
