Senior Consultant (4 Months)

InnoTech Alberta is seeking a Senior Consultant to support the delivery of key activities within the Corporate Planning and Consulting Team. The Senior Consultant will support a variety of internal corporate consulting projects, contribute to performance management reporting, and contribute to the execution of InnoTech’s strategic, business, and operational plans.  The Senior Consultant will work with InnoTech management, technical colleagues, and other stakeholders in managing and delivering these activities.

Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Consulting, the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


  • Supporting the completion of monthly management reporting tasks including measurement and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), updating dashboards, and performing other pertinent analysis.
  • Contributing to the delivery of key reports to the Government of Alberta, Alberta Innovates’ Executives, and its Board of Directors.
  • Developing critical communications products for internal and external audiences.
  • Contributing to key organizational projects and initiatives sponsored by InnoTech Alberta’s Senior Leadership Team such as gathering requirements to enable digitization of internal processes and procedures or supporting the organizational rollout of new digital tools.
  • Supporting Functional and Team Leads across InnoTech in executing aspects of their operational plans.
  • Working with project managers to prepare project proposals or applications related to strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting ongoing project delivery by managing key client projects or other internal initiatives.


Qualifications and skills we are looking for:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8 or more years’ experience in progressively responsible business or corporate consulting roles.
  • 1-3 years of successful Project Management and/or Project delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated technological or other relevant functional expertise.
  • Insightful, innovative, and creative.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-assured, confident, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to develop relationships, credibility, and trust with technical colleagues, external clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong business and strategic skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills to convey concepts, information, and act as change management agent.
  • Presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to explore and develop opportunities.
  • Proficiency with suite of Microsoft Office tools ideally including PowerBI.
