Opportunity for Summer Students

(Information Technology – Systems Analysis)

 

 

Alberta Innovates is looking to provide meaningful work experience to students who are currently enrolled in any recognized post-secondary educational institutions.  This will be a four-month engagement starting first week of May 2025.

 

Successful candidates will be paid on hourly basis, and work may be up to 36.25 hours every week.

 

 

The Opportunity

  • Job Duties:

The "Systems Analyst Student" will work with the Manager of Infrastructure Operations and Manager of Cybersecurity to configure and deploy network infrastructure, support Azure workloads, and perform Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring and reporting. Depending on skillset, additional activities may include PowerPlatform development and data reporting (PowerBI).

 

  • Background Required:

Education focus:  Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology (BAIST) or similar; Computer Science/Engineering, Internetworking.

 

Experience\Education in networking (network switches, firewalls, VLANs, wireless, and SDWAN), provisioning virtual servers, and working in Powershell.  Experience/Education in network traffic monitoring. Familiarity with Azure services and workloads.  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

  • Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 10Kg.
