Operations Assistant (Plant Watering Labour) Casual Position on Weekends and Holidays
InnoTech Alberta is seeking an Operations Assistant for our Bio-Industrial Materials team in Vegreville to work on the weekends and statutory holidays to perform plant watering and other duties as assigned in our greenhouse facility. This is a two year term casual position and will be based out of our Vegreville office. This position is not eligible for hybrid work.

The Bio-Industrial Materials team in Vegreville delivers programs that support the emergence of a strong bio-economy in Alberta to enhance profitability and sustainability of our agriculture industry. Key clients and partners for the group include industry, SMEs, entrepreneurs, government agencies, non-government organizations and academic institutions.
During regular business days, Monday through Friday, there may be occasional opportunities to assist teams in various technical capacities, if desired. There will be an expectation to cover most weekends and statutory holidays in the year, however the task rarely if ever takes longer than 2 hours.
Qualifications;
- Knowledge of various plants and basic watering principles
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy, with good attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions, protocols and safety procedures
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset when monitoring operation of growth cabinets
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally work in awkward positions such as kneeling and bending.
