Senior Business Partner, Organizational Change Management
Alberta Innovates is seeking a Senior Business Partner, Organizational Change Management, within the People and Culture division. This is a permanent position and will be based out of our Edmonton Research Park office. This position is eligible for hybrid work.
This role plays a critical role in enabling successful adoption of strategic initiatives that impact our people, process and culture. It applies a structured change management approach to foster meaningful behavior change, ensuring individuals are ready, willing, and able to embrace new ways of working.
As a foundational member of our change management practice, this individual will contribute to the design and implementation of our standards, framework, tools and infrastructure that supports transformation across the organization. It will also play a central role in building change capability and fostering a culture of agility, resilience, and continuous improvement through strong cross-functional partnerships.

Job Details
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead organizational change initiatives including technical, business, and cultural transformation to ensure successful adoption.
- Develop and execute change strategies informed by impact assessments, stakeholder analysis and readiness.
- Create integrated change plans with clear metrics, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor change effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative measures.
- Coach leaders and teams to apply change management principles and foster adaptability.
- Partner to design and deliver programs to build change capability across the organization.
- Build strategic partnerships with cross-functional teams to align change efforts.
- Act as a trusted advisor and change catalyst, fostering a culture of agility, resilience, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on change management trends to continuously evolve our frameworks, tools and processes.
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- A change management certification (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) is preferred
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in change management, organizational development, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience leading complex, cross-functional change initiatives in large or matrixed organizations.
- Proven ability to design, guide, and execute structured change management strategies and plans.
- Comfort with interpreting data to inform strategies and measure impact.
- Demonstrated success in developing or contributing to change management infrastructure, including governance models, playbooks, toolkits, and templates.
- Public sector working experience is an asset
- Skilled in facilitation, coaching, and tailoring communication approaches to suit various audiences.
- Familiar with digital tools and platforms used in change management, communication and collaboration (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams, survey platforms, digital content creation etc.)
